Chiropractors must have an undergraduate degree prior to attending Chiropractic College. Their training consists of a four-year doctoral graduate school program. After graduation, they must pass national board exams before obtaining a license to practice, and then must maintain their license annually by earning continuing education (CE) credits through province-approved CE programs.

Chiropractic therapy is very effective for neck to lower back pain, headaches, elbow tendinitis, knee problems, rotator cuff problems, lower back pain due to pregnancy, etc.

Leanne is a 2018 graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

Throughout school, she was very fortunate to have had the opportunity of working at a variety of patient outreaches such as the Multiple Sclerosis In-Reach, SPEC In-Reach (Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, etc.), the UBC Varsity Team and BC Women’s Hospital.

Her practice focuses on combining Swedish massage with trigger point release, IASTM, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques and stretching. Lawrence graduated from VCMT where he obtained his diploma with honors in Massage Therapy. His interest in the health sciences originated from his experience with injury and rehabilitation in competitive sports.

Lawrence grew up playing basketball, soccer and combat sports such as kickboxing. With his experience in injury and rehabilitation he became fascinated by the use of soft tissue manipulation creating a better overall wellness of the human body and mind. This inspired Lawrence to pursue a career helping and caring for others with therapeutic touch as well as providing an opportunity for focused education about exercise and body awareness.

Gavin is a 2014 graduate of the Massage Therapy Program at Vancouver Career College and is the 2nd place winner of the August 2014 Clinical Case Report Awards by the Registered Massage Therapists’ Association of British Columbia (RMTBC). His article “Therapeutic and intra-oral massage for treatment of post unilateral sagittal split osteotomy temporomandibular joint dysfunction: a case study” has been published and can be viewed on RMTBC’s website.

​Gavin’s experience includes treating different populations ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, numerous conditions such as TMJ dysfunction, HIV, diabetes, disc herniation, dislocation, carpal tunnel syndrome, frozen shoulder, pregnancy, tendon rupture and other various overuse injuries. As a member of the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association (CSMTA), Gavin is also a certified sport massage therapist SMT(c). This designation allows him to participate as an RMT in national and major sport events in Canada.

I know what it feels like to want to make the health of your body a priority and not feel like you have enough time. We all want to be well and feel healthy. I believe your body is capable of extraordinary things, and sometimes we need a little help to get there. I love my job every single day I come to work. Massage therapy can make such a difference in how people feel and how their body can move. I feel fortunate to be part of that positive change.

In treatment, I work with my patients to find out what it is they need to be well. We always work together to achieve your short term and long-term goals for treatment. Everyone’s journey is different, so the goals are different for every person, and I am happy to meet you wherever you are at.

A little bit about me: I graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy and have been working as an RMT since 2006. I have been teaching RMT students since 2012 as I feel passionate about influencing the next generation of RMTs. Some of my other career highlights include being a program and regional coordinator for a local college, creating a continuing education company that taught the latest research to RMTs, and helping to write the textbook Evidence Informed Massage Therapy. Dr. Minhas brings over 27 years of experience as a Doctor of Chiropractic to Surrey. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of British Columbia and earned her Doctor of Chiropractic from Western States University in Portland, Oregon.

Prior to chiropractic, her background includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation.
